  • Psychological therapy serves as a form of ongoing support and treatment for managing a wide variety of life stressors and mental health issues, including but not limited to: stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, loss, life transitions, substance use or addictive behaviours, and exploring elements of identity including culture, gender, sexual orientation, religion etc.

Therapy services are €130 per clinical hour (50 mins of therapy + up to 10 minutes of scheduling, questions, and planning as needed). This is the same for both individual and couples clients.

Important note on pricing: all therapy services are provided by a Chartered Psychologist, meaning you are eligible for 20% tax relief on these sessions. This makes the effective maximum price of a session €104 after tax relief is factored in. This price can be even further reduced (or outright eliminated in some cases) if you have private health insurance. If you have any questions about the cost of our services please do not hesitate to reach out and we will try to help as best as we can.

The structure of therapy is as follows:

    - The first therapy session is a collaborative assessment to identify your goals, needs, background, and create a treatment plan based on best-practices for your unique goals and needs

    - Sessions are typically held weekly or bi-weekly until client feels necessary

    - Available for adults (aged 18+) for individual therapy or couples therapy.

    - At the moment our therapy services are only available via telehealth video sessions conducted through our secure online telehealth platform or via phone. This allows for increased flexibility, privacy, and comfort when booking and attending sessions. Read our article for more information on the benefits of telehealth therapy by clicking here.

Still have questions or concerns or concerns? We offer free, no-strings-attached 15 minute phone consultations. To arrange a phone consultation, please email us at info@truapsych.com. For further information on our service, see our FAQs page.

  • This is our collaborative, neuro-affirming process of “assessing” for autism in clients ages 18+. The outcomes of this process are identical to a traditional clinical assessment/diagnosis process for autism, however the process is far more person-centered, strengths-based, collaborative, and informed by the Autistic community.

We believe autism is simply one of many naturally occurring human neurotypes. We do not see potential challenges related to an autistic neurotype as a “disorder” or an issue with an individual, rather we believe any challenges arise due to how our society is often not accessible or inclusive for people who are autistic or otherwise neuro-diverse. We also know that every autistic person has many individual strengths and can live rich, fulfilling, and meaningful lives.

The structure of the assessment is as follows:

    - The collaborative identification process spans 3 telehealth sessions, each booked for 90 minutes.

    - The first two sessions are focused on information gathering and might cover a wide range of topics, and you might be asked to complete some forms before or between these sessions to help us better understand your lived experience and history.

    - The third session is where we will provide feedback about the outcomes of the Autistic Identification process, identify supporting documentation as needed, and identifying further resources and referrals if you feel you need further supports.

(As this is a collaborative identification process, you will likely know where we are heading in terms of identification in advance of the final session - the outcome either way is likely not going to be a surprise to you following from our first two appointments.)

    - If we collaboratively identify that you are Autistic, your clinician can provide you with supporting documentation advocating for your needs with your workplace or educational setting. As this process is conducted in lin with current best-practice guidelines with a Chartered Psychologist, these supporting documents should be accepted by the HSE and other support services as well. Most of these documents are included in the base cost of the identification process (with the exception of disability allowance documentation as noted below).

    - If we collaboratively determine that you are not Autistic then we will of course identify other supports, resources, and/or referrals as appropriate.

    - The fee for this service is €1100 all inclusive* - you can choose to pay the full fee upfront, or you can choose to pay per appointment (€350 due at the first and second sessions and €400 due at the 3rd session.)

    - Important note on pricing: all therapy services are provided by a Chartered Psychologist, meaning you are eligible for 20% tax relief for this service. This price can be even further reduced (or outright eliminated in some cases) if you have private health insurance. If you have any questions about the cost of our services please do not hesitate to reach out and we will try to help as best as we can.

*(Some additional specific documents are not included in the price, such as support when applying disability allowance, and this can incur an additional fee. It must be mutually and collaboratively agreed by both parties that the threshold for making a disability allowance application is met during the assessment process for this to be completed.)

    - For those who are on the fence about whether or not to engage with the identification process, we offer a 45 minute pre-identification consultation call for €100. This consultation is designed to talk through your questions, concerns, “what ifs”, costs/benefits, or anything else you might need when deciding whether or not to book for the full identification process. This pre-identification consultation is not required to book the full identification.

    ________________________________________________________________

This is our collaborative and affirming process of assessing for gender dysphoria in adult clients ages 18+. The outcomes of this process will provide evidence of gender dysphoria for those seeking to engage with medical transition such as seeking hormone therapy from an endocrinologist.

We believe being trans, intersex, and/or gender-diverse is a normal part of human diversity. We cherish and value this diversity and want to help our trans and gender-diverse clients access the supportive and affirming health care they deserve. We recognize that not all gender-diverse people experience gender dysphoria. We also recognize that the current political and social climate is actively hostile to gender-diverse people, which can cause undue stress and concern, and even exacerbate feelings of gender dysphoria in those experiencing it.

The fee for this service is €350 per session. It is important to note that we recognize that some folks in the community may need a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria when changing healthcare providers. For these clients, assessments will normally be completed in 1 session. Clients who have already undergone extensive social/medical transition will likely also require 1 session to complete the assessment. For those very early in their transition or with significant additional assessment needs, up to 3 sessions may be required to complete the assessment process. If you have any concerns about this please get in touch with us for a free 15 minute consultation and we can give more specific guidance around your particular needs.

Important note on pricing: all therapy services are provided by a Chartered Psychologist, meaning you are eligible for 20% tax relief for this service. This price can be even further reduced (or outright eliminated in some cases) if you have private health insurance. If you have any questions about the cost of our services please do not hesitate to reach out and we will try to help as best as we can.

The structure of the assessment is as follows:

    - This assessment process spans 1-3 telehealth sessions, each booked for 90 minutes.

    - The sessions are focused on information gathering around your bio-psycho-social history and might cover a wide range of topics, and you might be asked to complete some forms before or between these sessions to help us better understand your lived experience and history.

    - At the end of the assessment process we will provide feedback about the outcomes of the assessment (as this is a collaborative assessment you will likely not be surprised at the outcome), identify supporting documentation to send to you as needed, and identify further resources and referrals if you feel you need further community or therapeutic supports.

If we collaboratively identify that you are experiencing gender dysphoria, your clinician can provide you with supporting documentation advocating for your needs with your health care provider, workplace, or educational setting. As this process is carried out with a Chartered Psychologist, these supporting documents should be accepted by the HSE and other support services as well. Most of these documents are included in the base cost of the identification process.

If we collaboratively determine that you are not experiencing gender dysphoria then we will of course identify other supports, resources, and/or referrals as appropriate.

For those who are on the fence about whether or not to engage with the identification process, we offer a 45 minute pre-assessment consultation call for €100. This consultation is designed to talk through your questions, concerns, “what ifs”, costs/benefits, or anything else you might need when deciding whether or not to book for the full identification process. This pre-assessment consultation is not required to book the full assessment.
